Microsoft has stopped supporting Windows Phone 8.1. Three years ago, this operating system was launched by the American technology giant.
To stop support in this operating system, many people are seeing the end of the Windows Phone era. It is still running on this OS in millions of phones, according to the report.

Many people think that the Windows Phone has passed away more than a year ago.

According to the estimation of Adoplex, an estimated 80 percent of Windows Phone phones are still running on Windows Phone 7, Windows Phone 8 or Windows Phone 8.1 operating system. Microsoft officially stopped updates on these devices.

The report said that only 20 percent of the devices are running in the latest Windows 10 mobile OS.

Windows Phone 8 to 8.1 update was one of the major updates to the organization. In addition to adding Microsoft’s voice assistant service to the first, there are several changes made to the UI.

Windows could not compete with Android and iOS in the smartphone market. 99.6 percent of the current market is running smartphones in iOS and Android operating systems. As a result, Microsoft has dropped out of Lumia branded smartphones.

The company is updating the Windows 10 mobile version so far. However, whether they will continue to support it in the future, it is still unclear.

Microsoft has brought updates to the Windows Phone 8 device. But it adds a few features of the Windows 10 Mobile Creators update.

On the other hand, the company is going to make big changes in the Windows 10 Fact Creator update for PC.
