Micromax has launched their brand new smartphone Canvas Infinity today in India. This is also the first smartphone to launch under the new Infinity diplay. As teased earlier, this is the most lower priced smartphone with 18:9 display in India. It has a price tag of Rs. 9,999 and is exclusive to Amazon India. Micromax also confirmed the smartphone to be available via offline shops in the coming weeks.LG also previously launched their Q6 smartphone with 18:9 ratio display for Rs. 14,990 in India. Apart from the 18:9 display, the Canvas Infinity also packs competitive hardware.
The Micromax Canvas Infinity is a metallic constructed along with two shiny Antenna bands on the top and bottom rear. It comes with a 5.7-inch IPS HD (1440 x 720 pixels) display with new 18:9 aspect ratio. With the large display, the body of the Canvas Infinity measures nearly equal as the iPhone 7 Plus. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 425 processor which is a quad core A53 based processor coupled with Adreno 308 GPU and 3GB of RAM. There is 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB via a dedicated MicroSD card slot. It comes with dual SIM slots with dual standby support.
It runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box and the company additionally confirmed to release the Android 8.0 Oreo update. In the camera department, the Micromax Canvas Infinity sports a 13MP camera on the back with f/2.0 aperture, 5P lens, and LED flash. For selfies, there is a 16MP camera on front with f/2.0 aperture, display flash, and 81.5-degree wide-angle lens. It is a backed by a 2,900mAh non-removable battery that is rated to supply up to 20 hours of talk time and lasts up to 420 hours on standby. The fingerprint sensor is positioned on the rear of the device.
Connectivity preferences include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, A-GPS, USB OTG, 3.5mm audio jack, and MicroUSB 2.0 port. The Canvas Infinity will be available only in Black color. On the right edge of the device, we can spot the volume rocker and electricity button. The company is additionally offering 24-hour service promise to repair or change the Canvas Infinity. However, this service will be available only at Micromax Express Service centers.
