Buses of West Bengal Transport Corporation (WBTC) in KOLKATA, India, can now provide real-time information about the bus waiting for the app.
In the report of IANS, the service was started from Monday.
The US web giant started this service with Google WBTC. Through this, Google Maps will show immediate information while reaching buses in Calcutta. This will make it easier for people to plan their journey, it has been said in the report.
In a statement, WBTC Managing Director Narayan Swaroop Nigam said, “With the current information sharing of our buses coming to Google Maps, we are trying to provide a superior level of service to our passengers. This step will help increase the number of passengers in our buses and hope to increase their earnings. ”
Currently, this service has been introduced only on some major routes of WBTC. This service will be started on other routes in a few days.
Communications Minister Subhbandhu Adhikari said, “This is another attempt to bring the smart mass transport system of Kolkata and increase the performance of WBTC.”
To use this service, users will need to turn on iOS or Android or Google Maps. Then you will need to click ‘Get Directions’ option with destination.
If it is not set before, you can find time, bus or train number, route and other information by tapping the ‘transit’ icon. The real information is displayed in green color.
